8/4/13: The ladies in the middle of a long hike. Behind them is the local dam. Thanks to George for this photo from the first full day of our trip.

8/5/13: Our stay at the Poconos actually started on Saturday, 8/3; but we didn't take any photos with our camera until Monday. On Monday, George, Aunt Claire, myself and little Owen went to visit a train museum (Steamtown National Historic Site). We didn't take many pictures there, either. But here are a couple of them.

In this picture, you can see behind us the train that we rode on as part of our visit.

The whole museum is built inside of a roundhouse, which can be seen behind us in this shot.

8/6/13: Aunt Claire and Grandpapa venture out on the lake behind our house, on the canoe that came with the house.

8/8/13: This was our big photo-taking day, and we did a lot of stuff. Here are the kids and Grandmama at a park near the house, where we rented another canoe.

The kids have differing ideas about what it means to pose for a photo.

Farewell, brave travellers!

While Grandpapa, Cara and I were out in the canoe, Owen and Grandmama try out the swingset nearby.

As I reported afterwards: We got stuck only once, for a minute or two...

Playing in the sand is always fun.

A slight dip in the lake.

Of all the pictures that have ever been taken of me scratching my head, this one is the best.

The kids made an interesting pattern in the sand.

Grandmama and Grandpapa taking the canoe for a spin!

After our fun outing, the kids and Evelyn and I had lunch at a local diner, where Owen insisted we take his picture.

In the evening, back at the dock at our house, feeding the ducks.

I don't exactly remember why Owen was only in his diaper. But we were on vacation! And we were trying hard to potty-train.

Even at personal risk of a vicious goose attack, George ventures into the lake.

It was cold out there!

Cara, George, and the geese all in the lake.
