11/5/12: The day of Owen's Halloween party at Yellow Brick Road (delayed because of Hurricane Sandy). In the evening, he was still happily in his costume.

Cara posing with some Batmen.

All our Batmen!

11/8/12: The week after Sandy hit, we were hit again, this time with a Nor'easter. Fortunately, in Edison all that happened was some snow. The next morning we came out to play in it a little.

Owen's main desire when playing in the snow was to "make footprints." Here he is looking at some of them.

11/10/12: Edison greatly delayed their official trick-or-treating day while everyone was getting their power back. When it finally arrived, we worried no one would come around. But it happened after all! We had a lovely day. Here are a bunch of pictures.

Here we are just about to start (I'm wearing a costume, too; it's an obscure reference to the show Phineas and Ferb).

You can tell this is an early one, because Owen is still willing to carry his own candy bucket.

Cara's witch costume was a real winner. It got more than one unsolicited compliment from passersby.

An impatient Bat-Buddy tries to pull Mommy to the next house. Too bad Batman doesn't have super-strength.

A rare shot with the mask down.

In the middle of devouring some M&Ms.

On the Loefflers' front steps at the conclusion of our outing.

Definitely the best of our big group shots.
