6/27/10: A typically alarmed-looking Owen after his first experience with solid food.

Cara's second dance recital!

That same evening, Owen gets very excited as I try cereal on him for the first time.

More photos from Cara's recital, courtesy of my dad:

7/1/10: Owen gets some impromptu tummy time in the park.

On the same day, he tries out the swings for the first time!

7/2/10, Owen plays with the flowery toy that Cara had when she was a baby.

Earlier in the evening, I had pointed out the anatomical difficulties of being a baby--namely, that you can't get your arms to go above your head when you hold your hands together.

7/3/10: I manage to photograph Owen smiling by turning off the flash on my camera.

7/3 is always the day of the big Red Banks fireworks show, so the Genzanos and the Loefflers headed down to Middletown to see them--and to enjoy other typical summer refreshments.

Em and PJ engage in a totally legal activity.

The nuclear family.

I discover the "night scene" setting on my camera.

Cara pretends to be an antelope.

Owen checks out some glow sticks. This is the only photograph of him from the whole evening where he doesn't look utterly horrified.

Mommy shows off her fancy hairdo.

7/4/10, celebrating again!

The camera's night setting makes Cara look like a ghost here.
