7/15/08, Cara gets creative with couch cushions.

7/18/08: Florida! One of the highlights is Lion Country Safari.
Here Cara and Anne and Evie try out the carousel.

Mini-golf--and beyond!

Cara had a great time on the Ferris wheel.

On her last visit, Cara fed the giraffes very gingerly while Mommy held her. She was a little braver this time.

Check this out!

7/20/08, a nice family photo.

From one vacation to the next: on 7/28/08 we drove down to North Carolina. Early on 7/29, we hit the beach for the first time. Cara and Grandma got right to business building a sand castle.

Playing in the waves.

While Cara checked out the ocean, Uncle Jim and Grandpa got to work finishing the castle.

Snow White also came to the beach. She had no luck working on her tan.

7/30/08, Cara enjoys the benefits of free wi-fi.

Here she is, looking quite chipper, because she's getting to stay up late.

7/31/08, Cara has her new duck ball for our morning visit to the beach.

Me and my Dad flying a kite. Not directly Cara-related, but it was "her" kite, and it's not often you see two grown men flying a kite with pink and purple unicorns on it.

I got it up in the air a few times, but it was Grandpa who really got the kite to fly.

For a few seconds, Cara took the wheel.

Later that same day, at the North Carolina Aquarium! If you look very carefully you may see the leg of the turtle Cara was staring at.

At the touch tank. Cara got to touch a starfish and a sea urchin.

With her new shark hat! Not a great picture, but for the fact that the fish happened to center itself very nicely in the shot.

Cara giving the famous thumbs up.

8/1/08, the last real day of the trip for us: Cara and I both looking very intrepid as we prepare for our tiny car race.

The end!
