Whether she wants to or not, Cara is getting very good at spitting out her pacifiers--but this one is just slowly falling out (5/5/05). If you had been there, it would be funnier. In some of the pictures my camera takes, Cara's hair looks reddish, but it's really just brown.

Photos of Cara with her New Mexico great-grandparents! From 5/6/05:

The great-grandparents got to see a nice active baby. I think all of these pictures were taken before she got fussy...

"Now, remember Cara, if your company does not match contributions on a 401k, you should roll your money over into a Roth IRA..."

The girls: four generations. There is also a shot of me instead of Ev on the couch, but it didn't come out as nice as this one.

On the morning of 5/7/05, when Cara was officially one month old, she took her first bath that she didn't scream all of the way through. Let's enjoy:

Baby is happy and more comfortable with a wash cloth over her tummy.

Thinking calm thoughts...

Drying off. There is a bear head on the hood of Cara's hoody towel, and if you cover her face with it it looks like she has a bear head. Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of this. There's always next time...

Look closely and you can see a charming spit bubble on Cara's lips.

5/10/05: Cara stretches gracefully, one leg in and one leg out of her dressy outfit. Cara's great-grandmother has commented that she's never seen a baby stretch so much. Note that in both of these photographs (above and below), Cara is asleep, even though she is twisting and turning all over the place. Babies make sleep look like very hard work, and Cara is particularly industrious.
