On 7/21/07, after having spent the previous afternoon and evening in Florida, we trekked over to the famous Lion Country Safari (all of the photos of our Florida trip come from our visit to Lion Country Safari).

The main attraction is the drive-through safari, where we saw many animals. Here Cara and her Aunt Claire (from the safety of our rental car) look out at the islands where the chimps and monkeys live.

Feeding the lorikeets! On previous similar occasions, Cara has been rather shy and uncertain, but this time she had a blast. She kept wanting to touch the birds, and would reach out and then pull her hands back at the last moment. She found this very amusing.

In this photo Cara has just pulled her hands back after an attempted bird grab.

Cara tries to feed a leaf to a lorikeet. Clearly what's good enough for goats should be good enough for tropical birds.

We found some rides near the water park (you can see the water slide, which Cara did not go on, in the back left). Fortunately Cara is still perfectly happy to get on rides that don't move.

Cara sets off on another safari with her new friends.

You could feed giraffes. You could...feed...giraffes!!

Cara preferred to put her giraffe crackers down on the railing for the giraffe to pick up.

After her wonderful giraffe experience, Cara chose a giraffe-related toy, visible in the shot below. Anne is pointing out some alligators to her great grandchild. Since we did not get a picture of the alligators, you'll just have to trust me that they were over there.

More mini-golf! After her experience at Lake George, Cara's stance and stroke had greatly improved.

Tired and hot, we kept asking Cara if she was done playing golf, but no: she wanted to meet all the animals on the course.

Cara demonstrates her technique for eating her popsicle: touch with hand; suck fingers.

That ends our photos of the Florida trip!

Say hello to The Wiggles! This is what we did on 7/29/07.

For the uninitiated, this shot shows most of the gang: you can see Dorothy the Dinosaur (she's the green one), Captain Feathersword (the one holding up the pink featherduster), Henry the Octopus (he's the purple octopus), and Wags the Dog (far right).

Cara, with no prompting from us, holds up her rose drawing to give to Dorothy.

During one of my favorite numbers, "Play Your Guitar With Murray," there is a funny bit where they have trouble getting Murray's huge inflatable statue to stand up.

Little Casey, just turned one (!), enjoys the show.

Cara with Daddy, both enjoying the show.

They did a song about teddy bears. Not one I'd heard before, but the dancing bears were a nice touch.

This is a famous little number called "Fruit Salad." It would surely be on anyone's "Wiggles Greatest Hits" collection.

Below, Captain Feathersword in the middle of some of his antics. He claimed to know ballet.

PJ loves the Wiggles.

At the finale, they drove out in their famous Big Red Car.

Cara, Wiggle Wand in hand, waves goodbye.
